New Late Night Host

I don't like to call my self a skeptic. I like to think I'm an idealist, a dreamer, a brain stormer. When it comes to things like television, however, I'm a hardcore skeptic. Every new show looks dumb and stupid and silly and un-funny. Every now and then I decide to give a show a chance, and once in a while, it works out.

Tonight I gave Craig Ferguson a chance. As much as I've become a fan of Conan O'Brien, his bits have gotten old and boring. I hate how the entire monologue follows the same format of joke setup. Craig on the other hand..unless I'm foolish and mistaken, makes it up every night much like Conan did during the writer's strike. That forced the shows to come up with some of the most entertaining shit to do. It was a shame when the writers came back and all the stupid old bits came back as well.

So maybe Monday night I'll check out Craig instead of Conan. We'll see.

Just caught up on Skins. It's been showing on BBC America. Also just found out that after season 2 they are basically shifting almost totally away from all the old characters. Its a bit strange. When I start to really enjoy a written show, I get very attached to the characters. Same thing with long series of books. Or just long books. I was sad when I finished the Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter. Sad when I finished reading A Prayer for Owen Meany.

Speaking of British TV, I wonder when the Americanized version of Top Gear will premier. I don't expect much from it. Then again, most of the shows I initially hate, I grow to like.

I think the only show I gave a chance from the start was Chuck.
